The highlight of your visit to the BMW Welt is ultimately when you pick up your BMW.

Even before you sit down in your car for the first time, you can start getting acquainted with it. Personal attendants will explain all the important features in the specially designed Product Info Center- every detail will be illustrated for you in a multimedia presentation. This introduction is specifically adapted to the individual type of engine and equipment of your new BMW. This way, nothing will be forgotten and you will find out all you need to know about your car before your first encounter behind the wheel.

Now comes the big moment: You receive your new BMW. Your personal attendant will briefly demonstrate your BMW’s features before handing you the keys. It’s finally time to get behind the wheel of your new BMW and begin your journey.

Insurance:

The insurance plan offered by BMW as part of the European Delivery Program is underwritten by one of Germany’s largest carriers. The plan provides full coverage in Europe without deductible except in the case of theft, where a 10% deductible applies. BMW provides 14 days of free coverage, however, should customers require additional coverage, and it can be purchased in monthly increments. For example, for 45 days if insurance coverage, you would order two months of coverage, which is the actual coverage provided, not one month plus 14 days. Please feel free to contact me directly for additional details and information on the insurance costs and coverage.  This coverage must extend to your drop off date and must be confirmed prior to arrival in Germany. It cannot be extended once the vehicle is registered (usually 10 business days prior to delivery). The package also includes Emergency Road Assistance in most European countries at no extra cost.

Navigation System:

The BMW on-board navigation system* can enhance and assist you on your European journey. Forget unwieldy maps and stopping to ask directions. BMW’s optional on board navigation system is your personal guide to virtually any metropolitan destination. Simply select “GPS- Navigation” from the on-board monitor menu and input an address. Using a Global Positioning System satellite, a map appears on the dash monitor, showing- and telling- the direction. This invaluable feature also helps locate historic sites, airports, petrol stations and that hidden-away five-star restaurant.

When you’ve reached your destination:

E.H. Harms is the designated freight forwarding company for all BMWs being returned to the United States under the European Delivery Program. You can choose one of many convenient drop-off locations. You simply deliver the care to the local office of E.H. Harms or to its designated shipping agent. The shipping agent will arrange for the car’s transportation to closest European port. Note that some locations now require reservations in advance. Phone numbers and email addresses are conveniently located on our website under each drop-off location. BMW includes the cost of transportation, customs clearance and duty, and marine insurance in the purchase price of all BMWs sold under the European Delivery Program. Allow approximately 6-8 weeks for shipment to the east coast and 8-10 weeks to the west coast from the drop-off date for your vehicle to arrive at your BMW center for final customer re-delivery.

Want to take someone with you?

Certainly, your partner or your family are very welcome. They can gladly participate in the BMW Welt program. Although, we would like to point out that pets are not allowed during the guided tour of the Munich plant or in BMW Museum. Unfortunately the visit to the BMW Welt is not suitable for animals.

Are you in a wheelchair?

Not an issue at all. The BMW Welt has been specifically designed to be wheelchair accessible. The visitor routes through the BMW Museum and the BMW Welt are suitable for people in wheelchairs assisted by an escort.

 Interested in the DVD for the Navigation system?

An “All Europe” DVD is available by calling Navigation Technologies at 888-628-6277. The cost is $165 plus tax, shipping, and handling.

When should you get to the BMW Welt?

Since you’ll want to allow ample time for an exciting day out, you are welcome to arrive 1-2 hours in advance of your scheduled pick up. This will allow you time to explore and plan your day, possibly including a factory tour or a leisurely lunch.

What if I have to reschedule my appointment at the BMW Welt?

In this case, please contact your local BMW dealer in advance of your schedule date. Date changes are subject to availability.

Direct From BMW: European Delivery – Drop off location change.

Effective July 1, 2009, drop off locations Madrid and London have been eliminated from the European Delivery Program and will no longer be available for customers.

· Germany: Munich, Frankfurt, Hamburg, Bremerhaven, Sindelfingen · Austria: Vienna · France: Nice, Paris ·Netherlands: Amsterdam ·Switzerland: Geneva, Zurich · Italy: Available for a fee.

The maximum insurance period has also changed to 5 months. The 6 months coverage is no longer available, effective immediately.

The change in drop off locations and maximum insurance coverage has been implemented due to a new law in Germany that requires vehicles to be registered and insured until they arrive at Port Bremerhaven.

BMW is offering the Value Package (ZVP) at no additional cost when you build a 2010 model 5 Series.  The ZVP includes the following options for the 528 and 535 X drive vehicles: Heated Steering Wheel, Heated Front Seats, Retractable Headlight Washers, IPOD & USB Adapter and the Dakota Leather upgrade. No need to add the Cold Weather Package or the cost.

Your BMW Center can discuss with you the benefit of this package on the 5 Series model that is perfect for you.  Don’t miss out on your opportunity to drive the Ultimate Driving Machine at an incredible value.

OK why is BMW doing this?  The model year change for the 5 series is fast approaching, the ALL NEW 2011 will be arriving in approximately one year.

European Delivery Program:  BMW of North America offers a European Delivery Program that allows BMW customers to pick-up their new BMW in Germany. European Delivery pricing offers savings to the customer that can offset part of the cost of a European driving vacation.

For the most part, contracting a European Delivery vehicle is similar to contracting a conventional delivery.  Below will review those few differences.

Eligibility:  Any program in place for current model year vehicles including applicable Sales Support programs may be used on the European Delivery program. Please check with your BMW Center for availability of your requested model and your  requested delivery date.

First Payments:  The BMW Center must collect the first monthly payment plus any applications tax (include tax on cap cost reduction, if applicable) at contact inception. BMW Financial Services will make the second payment on behalf of the customer. The third monthly  payment will be due on the scheduled date 60 days from the date of the signed agreement, consistent with a standard lease payment schedule.

Euro Delivery Rate Adder:  There will be a rate adder to the European Delievery Leases for .00030. This will be a rate adder to any applicable Sales Support or Regional Rates. Any dealer reserve will be calculated on any amount above the published rates and any applicable rate adders.

Security Deposit:  A Security deposit will be required consistent with the standard program. The Security Deposit Waiver applies for returning BMW FS customers according to the published program.
